Un-Common Times

Your Photos & Memories of Good Times & Great People

Tony Davis gets a "makeover" from Robin Batchelder on the way to the Contraband Days Band Festival in Lake Charles, LA ('78). Now there's a guy with REAL guts! Click here for larger photo.
The Clarinet players presented their section leader, Brenda Gloria, with Carnations for Valentine's Day ('78). Can you believe she kept it? Wonder what else she's got? Brenda was so surprised and touched by their thoughtfulness! Click here for larger photo.
Eddy Barraza and Yolanda Graham were picked to be the Band King & Queen at the Band Banquet in 1979.  Ed says he remembers being very embarrassed about it all, but doesn't remember much else.  Guess those synaptic pathways just aren't what they used to be.  Click here for larger photo.
Jesse Baza (right) had an interesting story to share about the "big date" he and Dirk Keith were on at the 1979 Band Banquet... Click here for all the sordid details.
Melinda Flores (left) and Yolanda Graham, clarinet players and twirlers, sit with the band for the last time during Grad ceremonies in '79. Melinda says she wanted to always be together with these good friends, and wished she could freeze that moment in time forever. Gee, kinda sounds like the ending of "Grease," doesn't it? Russ Malesky's 1976 photo looks similar to his 2002 photo... he's still wearing blue, still in uniform, and his haircut would make Mr. Schreiber proud.   Click HERE to see for yourself.
Who says a Brass/Woodwind duet isn't possible?  Brenda Blankinship ('87) and Joe Gonzales ('87) prove it is... they got married!  Click here for larger photos.
Patti Bland ('79) wouldn't pose for a picture, but the stage band guys were determined to see Patti on Kodak paper.  Click HERE to read about it.
